OEM DRY CAT & DOG FOOD · COMMERCIAL PLANNING
Pet Food MOQ and Order Planning
Ask for product and packaging minimums against the same SKU list, then build a first order around your launch priorities and replenishment plan.
A useful MOQ discussion starts with what you want to order. Share the product directions, pack sizes and quantity estimate for each SKU. ZoePetSup can review the proposed mix with you and confirm the product, packaging and order requirements for that project.

List the pack size and volume behind each SKU.
Your first order decisions
Make the first order easier to quote
START WITH A QUOTABLE SKU LIST
Define the order before comparing minimums
Give the proposed order enough detail for the minimum quantities and commercial assumptions to be reviewed together.
List the destination market, sales channel, species and life stage. For each intended product, include the flavour or formula direction, pack size and quantity estimate. Identify the core launch SKU and any variants you could defer if the first range needs to be simpler.
State your target quantity even if it is provisional. Separate the first order from your expected replenishment pattern and explain any launch deadline. Product MOQ, packaging MOQ, prices and production timing need confirmation for the agreed combination; a quantity quoted for a different recipe or pack plan is not automatically comparable.

THREE DIFFERENT ORDER QUESTIONS
Separate product, packaging and shipment requirements
Ask which requirement applies to each part of the order instead of treating one total volume as the answer to every minimum.
Keep the product and packaging conditions visible in the quotation. Shipment planning is another discussion: sharing a shipment does not by itself establish that every proposed product batch or pack variant is feasible. Confirm the agreed mix and the responsibility for each requirement.
| Order layer | What needs confirmation | Question to include |
|---|---|---|
| Product batch | The minimum for the agreed product specification and production scope | Which proposed products need separate quantity confirmation? |
| Packaging | Minimum quantities for the selected size, material and artwork | How does each packaging variant affect the order? |
| Shipment | The agreed quantities, packing arrangement and destination | Can the proposed finished products be consolidated, and on what terms? |
MAKE THE ORDER MIX VISIBLE
Show the quantity behind each SKU
List commercial variants separately and flag shared requirements so the quotation can address the actual range you intend to launch.
Break the plan down by product direction, flavour, life stage, pack size and artwork where relevant. State both bag count and the corresponding product weight when you know them. If two variants share a proposed specification or packaging requirement, identify that relationship and ask how it affects the quote.
Mark each line as essential for launch or optional. This helps the discussion focus on the range you need first. Do not assume that an order total can be split freely across flavours, life stages or pack sizes; ask for the minimum and any conditions against each proposed line.
| Input per SKU | What to send | Why it belongs in the quote |
|---|---|---|
| Product direction | Species, life stage and proposed formula or flavour | Identifies the product scope needing review |
| Pack and artwork | Bag size, format and intended printed version | Makes packaging variants visible |
| First quantity | Estimated bags and total product weight, if known | Allows the requested mix to be compared with the confirmed minimums |
| Range priority | Core launch item or optional extension | Shows where a more focused first order could be discussed |
MAKE THE QUANTITY ASSUMPTIONS VISIBLE
Send a SKU list with your target quantities.
We can review product and packaging requirements against the same brief.
CHECK THE PRINT AND PACK ASSUMPTIONS
Plan packaging quantities alongside the product
Confirm how the selected pack sizes and artwork versions affect packaging minimums, costs and the quantities to be supplied.

A range with several bag sizes or artwork versions needs an explicit packaging plan. Tell us which formats are essential to the sales channel and which could be considered later. Ask how the selected material, format, pack size and print scope affect the quotation rather than assuming the same conditions for every bag.
If the proposed packaging quantity differs from the first finished-product quantity, ask how that difference would be handled. Storage, ownership, charges and use in a later order require agreement; do not assume surplus printed packaging will be held or reused automatically. Keep the final artwork approval connected to the agreed product specification.
COMPARE A MORE FOCUSED FIRST RANGE
Choose which launch requirements matter most
Discuss ways to simplify the first-order brief without assuming that any option guarantees a lower minimum or a lower price.
Use the confirmed quotation to compare the options that fit your channel and launch objectives. Product suitability, packaging feasibility, quantities and commercial terms still need review for each proposed option.
Focus on a core SKU
Prioritise the product your launch depends on, then identify optional flavours or life-stage extensions.
- Keep the essential product requirements clear
- Separate optional variants from launch needs
- Discuss the next range extension separately
Simplify the pack mix
Identify the pack size your channel needs first and explain which additional formats can remain open.
- State the core retail or bulk format
- Clarify the necessary artwork versions
- Confirm the packaging MOQ for that plan
Plan the range in phases
Connect the first order to a proposed replenishment or extension discussion rather than treating every future SKU as an immediate commitment.
- Separate first-order and future estimates
- Review assumptions before each new SKU
- Confirm timing and terms for later orders
CONFIRM THE SAME ORDER ON BOTH SIDES
Review the quotation against your actual brief
Check the product, packaging, quantities and approval conditions together before confirming the order.
Keep the quotation version with the SKU list it covers. If a product direction, quantity, bag size or artwork changes, request confirmation of the affected terms. A clear comparison reduces assumptions when the project moves from planning to an agreed order.
Match the product scope
Check species, life stage, formula or flavour direction and the specification to be agreed. Identify the sample and quality decisions still needed before production.
Confirm each quantity
Record the product and packaging minimums, ordered quantities and units for each proposed line. Confirm any SKU mixing or consolidation conditions explicitly.
Check charges and approvals
Review the included product and packaging scope, development or sample charges where relevant, artwork approval and agreed payment and delivery terms.
Plan the next decision
Confirm the proposed schedule and its approval dependencies. Ask how a repeat order or future range change would be quoted instead of assuming the first-order terms apply unchanged.
READY FOR THE NEXT STEP?
Keep the quotation and approved SKU list together.
The agreed product, packaging, quantities and approval steps should describe the same order.
BEFORE THE FIRST ORDER
Questions about pet food MOQ
Send the intended product and pack mix to confirm the commercial requirements for your project.
01What is ZoePetSup's minimum order for dry pet food?
A single standard dry-food MOQ has not been confirmed for every product and packaging direction. Share your intended SKU list, pack sizes and quantity estimate so the product and packaging minimums can be confirmed against the proposed order.
02Can I combine cat food and dog food in one order?
Send the proposed products and quantities per SKU for review. Product batch requirements and shipment consolidation need separate confirmation. Do not assume that a combined order total satisfies the minimum for each product.
03Can I mix flavours, life stages or pack sizes?
List each proposed variant and its quantity. Ask which product and packaging requirements apply to those lines and whether the requested mix is feasible. The agreed combination and commercial terms should be stated in the quotation.
04Does a higher total order automatically reduce the unit price?
Price needs to be quoted against the agreed product specification, packaging and quantities. Share the order scenarios you want to compare so the scope and assumptions remain clear; no automatic price reduction is promised.
05Can unused printed packaging be held for a later order?
Ask whether that arrangement is available for your project and confirm ownership, storage, charges and later-use conditions in writing. Holding or reusing packaging is not assumed as a standard service.
06Can I begin with samples before confirming a commercial order?
You can discuss a sample request as part of development. Sample scope, charges, timing and shipping arrangements are confirmed separately. Sample approval should then be connected to the agreed specification, artwork and commercial order terms.
07What should I include in my first MOQ inquiry?
Send the destination market, sales channel, species and life stage, product or flavour directions, pack sizes and estimated quantity per SKU. Add launch priorities, target timing and any flexibility in the range or packaging plan.
